Announcement: Center For Fine-Art Photography’s Member’s Exhibition
I recently had a wonderful experience judging the Center For Fine Art Photography’s show, “People, Places, Things”. There was so much inspiring work, and choosing the winners was more challenging than I had expected.
The Center also announced its 3rd Annual Members’ International Exhibition. For non-members, membership is available during registration. The show’s juror will be Sue Brisk, Editorial Director at Magnum Photos, New York.
The deadline is midnight, August 8, 2006.
Approximately 30 works from the Center’s gallery exhibition will be selected for a post-exhibition traveling show to the Denver International Airport’s Bridge Gallery January 10 through March 26, 2007 and you can find out more at http://www.c4fap.org.
On the topic of Magnum Photos, on a recent trip to the Arles Photo Festival in France, I had an opportunity to meet a number of current Magnum photographers. Magnum was founded in 1948 by Robert Capa, Henri Cartier-Bresson, George Rodger, and David “Chim” Seymour. I encourage you to read the history of the organization at their web site, and see how its member photographers are still making history across the globe.
