I am a huge fan of WordPress. This site, as well as my book’s companion site, inkjettips.com, uses WordPress as the content management system. The founder of the software, Matt Mullenweg has a website called ma.tt, which is filled with a lot of great photos taken by Matt (like this cool jellyfish shot) as well as some nice scripts and useful web apps like this free word counter. I’ve been using Microsoft Word (Under Tools>Word Count) for word counting text for years, but this seems to work as well or better. You can find more tools on this page, like a random number generator, which is great for contests, or for making important decisions.
Booksmart Studio is a Book Publisher and Fine Edition Printer based in Rochester, NY. In addition to being a publisher and edition printer, Booksmart Studio has two galleries: Gallery Kunstler and Rochester Pin-up Gallery. Gallery Kunstler is currently showing the 1st Annual Alternative Process Exhibition, which was juried by artist and educator Mary Taylor and which will be on display until March 29. Mary Taylor currently has a show entitled Sacred Valley Souls on exhibit at Booksmart Studio’s other gallery through March 29.

Booksmart Studio has also announced a call for entries for a juried show entitled Circulation. This is a short description of the theme from the show materials: “Booksmart Studio is seeking submission of artist works that confront, explore, exploit, challenge, and investigate the modes, methods, and effects of circulation. Keeping in line with the diverse modes of circulation and dissemination, the exhibition is open to all mediums.”
The deadline for entry is March 28, 2008, and for more information and a prospectus, visit this page.
I think that Double Exposure magazine (doubleexposure.com) is a fantastic online magazine with a wealth of images from emerging and legendary photographers.
For example, these three cover stories, featuring Greg Gorman, Douglas Kirkland, and Peter B. Kaplan, all showcase great work by truly talented professionals, as well as great writing by Double Exposure’s editor, Lynne Eodice. I also recommend subscribing to some or all of their free newsletters, which can be found here. There is also news from members of photoworkshop.com, an amazing online resource for learning more about photography.
