I just received this notice from Stephen Perloff of The Photo Review and wanted to share it. I think that the benefit is for a very good cause.
Westchester (NY) Photographers and Westchester Photo Groups in direct response to the starving children in Haiti, which Doctors without Borders are trying to nourish and save, will be having a large sale of unmatted and unframed original signed photographic prints at All Saints Church on Scarborough Road in Briarcliff Manor, New York (1 mile west of Route 9) on Saturday, December 13th from 1-4 p.m.
Every print will sell for $25.00 even though the prints are worth much more, but it is felt that the sale of each print at this price can feed a child for several days in Haiti and provide valuable nourishment and hydration. In these difficult times here is a chance to acquire an amazing work of art and to also help save starving children. All funds raised from the sale will go to Doctors without Borders for their work in Haiti. This benefit has been organized by Ossining photographic artist Mark Sadan and Betlinn (Shamou) Louis, a young Haitian woman student from the small village of Marigot in Haiti who is currently studying in the US. Both Mark and Betlinn be at the sale. For further information call Mark Sadan at 914 762-0219.
Photographers wishing to donate prints can send them to Mark Sadan, c/o Ray and Alice Lowery, 46 Laurel Hill Road, Croton, NY 10520.
After communicating with Arthur Bleich, Publisher of dpcorner.com and a Contributing Editor to Rangefinder magazine, I learned of an eight day DSLR Photography Workshop that sets sail on March 29, 2009. This is the ninth Digital Photography Workshop at Sea, and it looks to be an outstanding opportunity for anyone who wants to learn how to use a DSLR better (and enjoy some of the beautiful islands of the southern Caribbean).

I’d like to invite readers of ImagingBuffet.com to a free event this Friday evening 11/21/2008 from 6-8pm in New Brunswick, NJ at Alfa Art Gallery. I’ll primarily be showing a new series of pigment inkjet prints of images that are shown in my book, 301 Inkjet Tips and Techniques, and I’ll be answering questions about inkjet printing. I’ll also be giving away 100 signed 11×14 posters (shown below):
It is an invitation-only event, and an RSVP is requested to attend. To RSVP, please visit this page.
All the best and I hope to see some ImagingBuffet readers there!
Andrew
