Hello everyone. I’d like to announce that I recently wrote an article on podcasting and audio, and contributed an image and testimonial about how I use a number of HP’s papers and printers. Both were published in Studio Photography magazine’s August issue.
This is the image I contributed to the inkjet article photographed in my favorite “city that never sleeps”:

I encourage all professional photographers based in the USA who like the online articles to request a free subscription to Studio Photography magazine. You’ll find a link to request a subscription on their home page. I think they do a fantastic job, and the articles are filled with great images and tips. If you live in Canada or Mexico, the free subscription option may also be available to you, but I’m not sure about that.
I am not an employee of the parent company, Cygnus Business Media, but I served as Editorial Director of a magazine called Digital Imaging Techniques (another Cygnus publication) for two years. You can find many previous online articles from Digital Imaging Techniques here. And to subscribe to my personal Inkjet & Imaging Tips Newsletter, just enter your e-mail address in the box in the top right corner of the home page.
Bye for now…
I recently had a wonderful experience judging the Center For Fine Art Photography’s show, “People, Places, Things”. There was so much inspiring work, and choosing the winners was more challenging than I had expected.
The Center also announced its 3rd Annual Members’ International Exhibition. For non-members, membership is available during registration. The show’s juror will be Sue Brisk, Editorial Director at Magnum Photos, New York.
The deadline is midnight, August 8, 2006.
Approximately 30 works from the Center’s gallery exhibition will be selected for a post-exhibition traveling show to the Denver International Airport’s Bridge Gallery January 10 through March 26, 2007 and you can find out more at https://www.c4fap.org.
On the topic of Magnum Photos, on a recent trip to the Arles Photo Festival in France, I had an opportunity to meet a number of current Magnum photographers. Magnum was founded in 1948 by Robert Capa, Henri Cartier-Bresson, George Rodger, and David “Chim” Seymour. I encourage you to read the history of the organization at their web site, and see how its member photographers are still making history across the globe.
Below is an announcement about the upcoming Center for Fine Art Photography’s Juried Show, “People Places and Things.” I just returned from a trip and wanted to post this before the entry deadline.
I am very honored to have been chosen to jury the show and I look forward to seeing a lot of great work. Past shows have featured many striking images and I encourage you to take a look at the Center’s website: https://www.c4fap.org (Choose “exhibitions” from the navigation pane on the left to see many images from past shows).
Below is an overview of the awards for the upcoming show. Entries are being accepted online until Tuesday July 11 (11:59PM US Mountain Standard Time) :
